  Gatsby Chapter 4-6 Blog In the first three chapters of The Great Gatsby we the reader know practically nothing about the man in the title. This is due to the fact that Nick has hardly talked to Gatsby or heard any truth about where he comes from and what he does. As we continue to read and delve into the fourth, fifth, and sixth chapters of the book we start to learn more about Gatsby as a person and where he gets his money and what he’s doing. The epigraph at the beginning of the book fits Gatsby perfectly and I firmly believe that this epigraph was put into the book to describe him and his character. When we first begin reading the book we learn about the massive and extravagant parties that are held at the Gatsby resident almost every night.   The Great Gatsby Parties From what I’ve read in the Great Gatsby the book is riddled with the main character Nick going to a multitude of parties with each one being drastically different from the last. The three parties that I have read about so far were the Daisy’s, Myrtle's, and Gatsby’s. I think that these were very interesting parties both in good and bad ways. Daisy’s party was the first of the parties in the book and was definitely the least interesting. The people at the party were Nick, Tom, Daisy, and Jordan. The setting was at Tom Buchanan’s house on East Egg, the house is described as “a cheerful red-and-white Georgian Colonial mansion” so this is clearly a very large house. The main purpose of the party is for Nick to meet up with his cousin Daisy; he also ends up meeting Jordan Baker, a professional women's golfer. During the party Tom shows off some of his less admirable character traits by getting into an argument with Daisy and makes Nick uncomfortable. T...
